A recent study shows all of the factors in the food chain and how much they contribute to green house gas (GHG) emissions. We’ve always been told to “eat local” to cut down on the transportation footprint, but it seems like that is not nearly as big a piece as we originally thought. In fact, what we eat and how it is produced are much bigger contributors to GHG emissions.

By no means does this mean you should stop shopping local. In fact, support your local businesses and those who are employed by them.
